Previous ESG Qatar conferences (2024-2025)

The third edition in October 2026 builds on two successful conferences organized by Hawkama International. This page preserves the record of those earlier editions - speakers, sponsors and press coverage - separate from the current 2026 program.

Edition summaries

2024Alwadi Hotel, Msheireb Downtown Doha + UDSTThe first edition was chaired by Sheikha Amal bint Thamer Al Thani, and was opened by H.E. Sheikh Dr Faleh bin Nasser bin Ahmed bin Ali Al Thani, former Minister of Environment. It was held in cooperation with the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) of the United Kingdom. The sponsors were Qatar Free Zones Authority (strategic), Aamal (platinum), University of Doha for Science and Technology, UDST (gold), and Ashghal and TechnoQ (silver). Alwadi Hotel in Msheireb hosted the first day and UDST hosted the second, and across both days the conference brought together more than 250 experts and decision-makers from the State of Qatar and the United Kingdom. The first edition closed by launching the "Doha Recommendations for beginning ESG implementation", which became a roadmap for a number of institutions in the region. It was a strong start for spreading ESG concepts across Qatar and among Qatari companies, which have since moved much closer to preparing annual reports on their environmental, social and governance performance under government laws and regulations.
2025Qatar Chamber, DohaChaired by Sheikh Thani bin Ali Al Thani, hosted at Qatar Chamber in partnership with ISEP (Manchester). Sponsors included Dukhan Bank, Doha Bank, Aamal Company and Ashghal. Building on the first edition, it marked the move from a phase of awareness and experimentation to one of advanced implementation and compliance. Day 2 workshops were delivered by specialists from Spain, with certificates awarded to participants.
